PCTP has access to high quality research platforms with unique technology in the country. Pando Technology Pole constitutes the main research platform, where the projects of PCTP clients are developed.

Bioanalytics

This area works on the design and development of new bioanalytical methods using mass spectrometry –that is considered a molecular scale to determine the molecular weight of substances– as the main tool. The information obtained from this tool enables the identification of chemical compounds that are present in biological samples and complex matrices, and expands the possibility of examining the systems to determine their basic operation as well as to develop productive applications.

The Green Chemistry guidelines, which promote a sustainable vision of chemistry applications in every respect of the discipline, appear as an overall research approach.

Work approach:

Development of analytical platforms to guarantee the origin and authenticity of Uruguayan natural products based on their chemical trails.
Strategies for the analysis of veterinary drugs residues in biological samples and their application in doping tests for equine sports.
Bioanalytical strategies for pollutants and toxins present in food as a tool to guarantee the safety of food.
Application of Green Analytical Chemistry concepts in the development of bioanalytical methods.
